Objectives

Preservation of relevant documental collections in order to preserve the memory of the pharmaceutical profession in Portugal, thus contributing to the consolidation of the pharmaceutical professional culture;

Encourage research and knowledge of the history of pharmacy in Portugal, of the pharmaceutical profession in its several areas, as well as, more broadly, of the history of public health;

Preserve, value, retrieve and disseminate cultural heritage (especially documental, bibliographic and photographic) that will contribute to the preservation of the memory of the Portuguese pharmacists and to the consolidation of a professional culture.
Mission
The Pharmaceutical Documentation Centre of the Portuguese Pharmaceutical Society gathers a variety of representative documentation of the history of pharmacy and pharmacists, which makes it a dynamic project, in continuing development.
It is intended that the Center will constitute itself as a center that brings together all information related to the history of pharmacy and pharmacists, as well as the professional, corporative and political activities over time.
