The Central Region Pharmacists Association

This association was founded in Coimbra, in 1924, and Victor da Silva Feitor was its first president. In 1933 it had 160 members.

 

The purposes defined by its statutes were: 

(...) strive for moral enhancement of the pharmaceutical class and encourage, by all means, the scientific, economic and professional progress of the same class, seeking:

 

  1. To strongly suppress illegal practice of pharmacy;

  2. To contribute for the good credit and dignity of its members;

  3. To promote the dissemination of pharmaceutical knowledge through conferences, publications, etc.;

  4. To provide, at the head office of the Association, instruction and recreation to their members;

  5. To help its members when in need, as well as their widows and children in case they are in need, through the Association fund and when conditions allows it."
